SVC holds so much close to my heart but what I find the most meaningful is those four years formed who I am today. Before college I was very insecure and always worried about how I looked. I had applied to two schools but when I visited SVC there was no other option in my mind (which is ironic because I had the same feeling about where my wedding venue was here in TN, that feeling of “this is exactly where I’m supposed to be). In college I learned to appreciate my natural beauty, I learned to accept confidence in myself and my personality blossomed.
I had my first legit relationship which at the time seemed like a mix of perfection and chaos at the same time. It was the first time I experienced true love but I also found true friendships. I joined the cheerleading squad and loved every minute of it.
Senior year I lived off campus and had the time of my life with the greatest group of roommates and friends. Sadly the end of senior year I became ill and had to have my lymph node removed from my neck so I had to withdraw from two classes and walked instead of graduating. I wish I finished when the time allowed but it’s never too late.
I’m so thankful for what SVC provided and so blessed for what I learned about myself.
